"The Same"

Wow 3 days ago while on a bus home, the bus was driving crazily slowly, and the air-con was barely on. It was super crowded as it was peak hour and I was even beginning to sweat. After more than an hour(usually I take about an hour or so), I was still quite far from home, at a certain bus-stop, there was a relatively steep slope, and after allowing the passengers to alight, the bus couldn't move. Each time the driver tried to accelerate, the bus rolled backwards, which was pretty dangerous and after about 5 mins, the driver was shouting over the phone, communicator or whatever to the HQ complaining how his bus isn't working and stuff, and without even refunding our bus ride, he got all the passengers to alight. Well this isn't the first time I encountered a faulty bus on this particular service no. and the buses are usually really old...
Today, on my way home on the bus, I saw an interesting sight. A china woman, not sure of where to alight was trying to find out from the bus driver when the bus driver went like, "don't ask me I don't know I don't know (in chinese)" and the china woman gave in and said, "okok" and stood near the bus driver looking out for her stop. Almost immediately after that, another girl, a Singaporean, went up and ask the bus driver for directions and this time round, the bus driver replied really politely and even gave her directions....
In less than a week, so many ugly incidents with SBS, as our fares are STEADILY increasing, this is the service they provide us. Faulty buses, trains and attitudes... zz
During my birthday, a friend brought me to this nice buffet at a hotel (I don't remember the name). Towards the end of the buffet, I decided to try out the pasta as there is a chef that will cook it on the spot for u. I actually ordered Penne with Alfredo sauce, then came along an indian man behind me, he went like, "I want exactly the same thing as he (thats me) is having... except that I want Speghetti and erm... I want tomato sauce" The chef looked up with a "blank" and confused look, smiled to him and said, "erm... ok"... I couldn't help but walked away laughing about it. I mean... how is that EXACTLY the same thing in any way at all? lol...

Birthday....

Hi all, many thanks to all who remembered my birthday and all the well wishes I've received =D. It always feels good to be remembered by people =D
Anyways I haven't been updating because I spent the entire last week attending a seminar called Principles of Biblical Counseling which is 8.30am-4.30pm daily then there is also lectures in the evenings, and it totally drained me out. Well I had a somewhat horrible birthday this year in fact, first of all I was totally drained, tired out etc. from the week of seminar then I was rushing my assignment till super late on Friday night cause on my birthday itself, I have lecture from 10am-5.30pm. First thing in the morning that happened that went wrong was the MRT. As I seemed to be a little behind time, I rushed all the way to the MRT station, saw the train approaching ran down the steps and squeezed my way into the train. The train stood still for a long while, and more and more people kept squeezing in even though it was already filled with people. I was horrible cause I was carrying my laptop, textbook etc, and it was really warm cause the train ain't moving and it's so squeezy people were literally "stuck" to each other.
A few minutes later, the MRT began to repeatedly broadcast and apologise that there will be a delay in the train taking off. It was quite a horrible feeling as people were beginning to feel hot and sweaty and it was about 30-40mins later, the MRT made an announcement that the train is faulty and that all passengers will need to alight. By then, my lecture had already begun. It was after another 20-30mins that the faulty train finally moved off and the next train came.
Just when I thought it's over, the train I got on stopped for like 10 minutes every station. It was only after 2-3stations that the SMRT actually announced to the passengers that there will be delay as they are trying to tow the faulty train out of service. Everyone on the train were complaining either to each other or on the phone, and everyone was so pissed off.
Well to top that bad morning off, I missed out over an hour of lecture, I was frantically trying to catch up with what is being taught and there was a ton of new concept that I need to pick up that day. By the end of the lecture, I was super tired already. But things kinda got better when I met up with my friend for a movie and dinner. And though my day didn't start off too well, thank God it ended off well....

I have nothing better to do... I admit

Yesterday was a hectic day, super tiring and draining as well. I had go do practicum at Outram in the morning, then go Kovan in the afternoon and then Bishan in the evening for project meeting. As I was walking towards the bus-stop at Kovan to take bus to Bishan, I happened to see a man in a weird position facing the rubbish chute (You know, those old kind of rubbish chute at the old flats where every unit will have their own chute instead of using a common one in the corridor). As I take a clearer look, both his hands were down at his ... area.... It was then I realised he was actually taking a leak, in public. I was really amused, stood there and thought to myself for a while... thinking if I should pull out my handphone and take a shot of it. I decided not to and carried on walking, but after a few steps further, I couldn't resist my urge to take a shot of it and so I pulled out my handphone, zoomed in as much as possible and took 2 shots of that man pee-ing at the rubbish chute =X Passerbys were all looking at me weirdly as I was seemingly aiming my camera at nowhere, but as they looked at the direction I was shooting, they realised what was going on and turned their attention to him LOL!! =X Oh wells, as I stated in the title, I really had nothing better to do at that time... =D

<link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://pleasegivechance.blogspot.com/2009/03/i-have-nothing-better-to-do-i-admit.html' title='I have nothing better to do... The design was like a sentence written repeatedly in a spiral manner and the words get smaller as it reaches the center of the circle. Initially, I did not pay much attention to that girl la, until she began talking on the phone and I realised she is a PRC. Well it's not that I have anything against them, but I tend to associate PRC with pirated stuff, cheap goods etc. neither do I disagree with cheap stuff (benefits us consumers right? =D) but anyways then the words on her top actually caught my attention. The words didn't make sense to be at first, and after reading it carefully again, I realised that the problem didn't lie with me, it was the "production" of the product. I nearly burst out laughing at the words when I read it and I seriously can't forget about it though it's almost a week ago hahaha... I went and told some of my friends and we were discussing if this was a result of piracy, to avoid copyright violation or something, but anyhows we ended up with a good laugh over it.... anyways, here are the words on the top, it says, "Girl, You look sex..."

The presistent fly and.... some sore uncles... LOL

2 days ago, as I was taking the MRT to City Hall, there was a ang moh guy who stood in front of me with his back facing me. I couldn't help but notice a fly that has rested on his right shoulder, but I didn't think much of it as I thought the fly will naturally fly away once he makes a big or sudden movement. But it was quite the opposite of what I thought. The guy happened to alight at City Hall with me, and as he walked really quickly ahead of me, I saw that the fly was still on his shoulder even as he climbs up the escalator. And so I took the City Link and was headed to Suntec, and as I was approaching the end of the City Link, I saw that same guy walking towards me. I guess he was trying to find his way around and probably walked past where he would like to stop, but as he walked past me on my right, I saw that the fly was still there! It was really quite funny to me how this fly is so persistent on sticking to him, it's almost as if the fly was hitching a free ride to its destination =X haha and linking to this...

Yesterday, I went to Kallang Leisure Park with a friend, and since there was an arcade, I decided to go in for a game of Street Fighter 4. I did not think much of it as I went in and I just played against whoever that was playing since there was only 1 machine. Little did I expect that after losing my first game, I managed 52 consecutive wins on my second game(the midium kick was slightly spoilt, it doesnt come out when I press it some times). It was my personal record for arcade game wins LOL! =D
The previous highest record I got was 53 wins for Guilty Gear XX at bugis but I took turns with 2 of my shifus who taught me how to play that game. This one, was all by myself. At about 40wins my friend was going on about how I look really tried and can't take it anymore and by the 53rd game, I was totally drained and lost the game to one of the uncles(well I really couldn't think anymore). It was a pity cause I only managed to take a picture at 40 wins and didn't have a chance to take it at 52, but I managed to leave my name Cal on the machine at the 1st place for wins(at least something I guess =X).

What was really interesting was that the group of uncles(how I know their uncles? they were talking really loud behind me about what time they need to pick up their kids from "lesson") that played against me were really sore. They were purposely commenting loudly on how I will lose to their pro friend if he was around, and they went to the extent that at 1 point of time they told me to "wait" because their "pro" friend want to challenge me and he is "coming down now". Well I just smiled and said "sure". But he was nothing close to what I thought (I thought he really is a pro from their conversation). I managed to win their "expert" friend for 6 games in a row, and after that, he stood up really furious and shouted really loud, "challenge him to 100 games la, bet $50 bucks or $100 bucks 1 game also nevermind". LOL here is the list of my thoughts/reaction upon hearing this statement:
1. I looked at my close to 50 win (at that point in time) and thought to myself, "I feel like just turning around now and ask that loudmouth to pay me $5000 first and don't talk so much"
2. Then I thought to myself again, "Well I seriously don't mind a job like that, maybe this is my answered prayer from God" (well of course I ain't serious, just making fun of my current distress)
3. With that kind of behaviour from uncles around me and these thoughts, I almost burst out laughing.... thankfully I didn't...
Anyways they became really irritating (well to me they were) after that. They surrounded the machine, began commenting really loudly about the game and on top of that, started to tell their friend really loudly, "nono wait for him to do this, he is just aiming for that, wait for this, faster kick him now". I was like gosh, those were the things people do in their teenage years never would I expect to see uncles acting out like that after losing a game hahaha. Talk about PERSISTENT FLIES =x hahahahaha

Oh for the record, I am not pro or really good with this game, the main reason I managed so many wins was because it's just the same few uncles whom I just happen to be able to win(with some ease =X) who had too much money to spend and decided to donate to the arcade. If there were anyone who could play averagely well, I would have lost easily =X

<link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://pleasegivechance.blogspot.com/2009/02/presistent-fly-and-some-sore-uncles-lol.html' title='The presistent fly and.... some sore uncles... And well, perhaps more often in the future as well =D
About slightly more than a month back, my school informed us that they will be organizing an overseas trip where we will be conducting seminars and workshops, and this trip will help me clock a big chunk of secondary practicum hours that I will need to complete as part of my degree program. And well, as much as I would like to go, I was already facing some serious financial difficulties where even my school fees was already a big problem. Despite so, I committed my intentions in prayer to God. One Saturday during life group, the Bible study leader asked for prayer request at the end of the session and I shared my desire and difficulties regarding this trip with them(I haven't done so for ages, not sure what prompted me to) and then we prayed for each others' needs together.
That night after dinner with the group members, as I was taking a bus home, I received an sms when I'm like 3/4s into the journey that someone(I won't name the people in this testimony write-up to prevent any possible exploitations in the future) is willing to pay for my airfare to Philippines. I was really happy beyond words, but that's not it. The next day, Sunday, I received a phone call, and that person(a different person), handed me a $150 for the trip too! Of course, a 5day 4night trip will also cost more than $150, but as I reflected on this incident, I'm really amazed at how quickly God answered my prayers. Prayer really moves mountains, a prayer that has been said, and answered within the span of hours (In between the time of Bible study to even before I reached home) is truly an amazing occurence to me and I can't thank God enough for His goodness to me. And of course, I believe that He will provide for the rest for this trip.
As mentioned earlier, since the beginning of the year, I have been having problems with my monthly instalments of my school fees and every month is really a test of faith to me. It has undoubtly made me weary, and constant family issues through this whole period of time greatly increased my burden. Many times, I was rendered hopeless with the amount of issues (there are people who can attest to this) and was on the verge on giving up on everything. Despite so, God used this incident to bring me to a new level of faith in Him. He reminded me to trust in His promise of providence for me and His capability to carry me through all my circumstances no matter how hopeless things might seem.
And through this incident, I know(and am reminded) that my God is more than able to exceedingly and abundantly provide for my needs and carry me through all these troubles and that I will be able to come out of these, a stronger and more resilient person in Christ. All glory to my Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ =D

Weirdo guy and lil bengs...

I was waiting for bus to go home one night when a double decker bus came. It was pretty late at night and I just happened to look up and I saw a guy sitting really comfortably at the last seat. Just when I was about to look away he suddenly smiled at me and made the "twist" sign, in that moment I thought he was doing it to someone else then when I looked, there wasn't anyone else thats looking at him lol....

Today, I saw 4 ah bengs as I went to the toilet of a shopping mall. They seemed pretty young luh, perhaps 14 or 15 years old.... mouth full of vulgarities, broken english + chinese combination made them sound really noobish... well then again.. they probably think their the coolest things on earth. Oh wells... after I was done I went outside the toilet to wait for my friend and just nice the lil bengs came out of the toilet to wait for 1 of their friends as well. It was then a bunch of maids from the maid agency in the shopping mall came to the toilet as well to fill water (or so it seems to me) and the little bengs walked up close to them and kept shouting, "Ice-cream ice-cream, who want ice-cream..." (for the benefits of the innocent friends that I have who don't understand this =D ice-cream in this case means something else and not literally ice-cream), then another bunch of maids came and they did the same thing.... I was kinda irritated and disgusted because they were picking on the poor maids, then again, who else can they pick on....

Following that, they waited for the lift which was right next to the toilet (well I was still waiting for my friend then...), and when the lift came, there was a aunty inside. The loudest of them all walked towards her and gave her that very act beng face, she was totally unimpressed and just walked by those monkeys. And guess what, the loud mouth turned his head and FACING THE BACK of the aunty he said, "diao simi diao" then he turned back to his friends, tried to look cool and his friends looked totally in awe of his little "brave act"... I almost burst out laughing in their faces man seriously... not only did they bully maids and not only did they try to pick a fight with an aunty, they tried picking a fight with the BACK OF THE AUNTY.. hahaha it was seriously hilarious... I mean.. how low can they stoop? hahahaha

A bunch of stuffs

Here is a bunch of stuff that I can remember from the past few days, I just had lecture from 10am-5+pm today and went church after that so really have no energy to narrate/spice up the stories to make it really interesting... but I didn't want to forget about them either... so I'm gona keep each one short.. =X

1. Is it the school I go or is it that school canteen is getting seriously expensive nowadays? I ordered rice, a piece of chicken, a hashbrown a fraction of dao gua and the school canteen charges $3 for that. Its more expensive then the coffeeshop downstairs my place!

2. I played street fighter 4 against a bunch of guys at kallang leisure park. They were winning another group of people initially then when I challenged that guy, he was busy whining to his friend about how my character is a cheat and that he deals tons of dmg, he kept going on and on until one of his friend said, "huh? isn't the character you used earlier also cheat? he also deal crazy dmg" that finally shut him up. Oh wells, amazing how whiny guys get, I totally dislike such people, bleh.... anyways he lost to me 3 times and he chose to stand behind and watch me with his friends after that... (well not like I'm a pro or something.... I just happen to win..)

3. Well I saw a friend with her boyfriend on the train at purple line the other day but she didn't acknowledge me. And we happened to alight at the same stop at douby gaut and since I was headed to the bus stop outside I just exited from the purple line exit and I saw my friend headed towards the red line. Thinking that they were changing trains to go orchard, that didn't really catch my attention. It was when I was waiting for my bus at the bus stop that I saw my friend, and her boyfriend, crossing the road and walked towards plaza singapura. It was really funny because they took a huge detour to go to plaza singapura. I do sincerely believe that it was an honest mistake they made in walking and not that they do not know =X...

4. While waiting for my bus transfer to head home today I saw a guy walking towards me from far in a pretty gangster fashion, as he came closer I saw an insect that seemed like a baby cockroach or a breed of beetle that is uncommon (well I'm not very sure) stucked on his shirt. Well I didn't warn him of course... but I kept watching him instead... then in a short distance ahead he suddenly realised the bug and started to jump around like crazy and his friend just stood there and kept asking "shen me shi shen me shi (what happened what happened)".. it was quite a funny sight.... ah beng vs cockroach? or bug... bug wins!! haha

5. I was taking bus home last night and at Tanjong Katong the bus driver horned a taxi that suddenly stopped in front of a traffic light even though it was green. Then to my surprise, a middle aged man, short and stout pointed his middle finger at the bus-driver. He then followed on and "slapped" his hands to do the "F U" sign (its the old school handsign if you don't know ask someone who knows LOL) the bus driver wanted to drive off initially but then he stopped and looked at that guy, seemingly deciding if he should get down and confront him or call the police. But the man outside carried his actions further, started to shout vulgarities even though no one could hear him. It was quite a funny sight, come to think of it... he must feel really "good" or "cool" doing that in front of so many passengers with the bus-driver not retaliating in any way. But to me, an audience in the bus, it was like watching a vulguar monkey perform his signs in a mime.... it looked really funny and I couldn't help but laugh in the bus....

6. While taking bus to church, the bus was filled to the max and I was stucked in front. A few stops after I boarded, a lady squeezed herself up on the bus. She then spoke with the bus-driver and told him that because there is a concert today so, the bus is so crowded. Then she went on and told the bus driver, "oh you know, you should suggest to SBS and tell them to increase frequency on concert days la..." the bus driver was dumbfounded and he just nodded, everyone standing nearby was starting to get amused.... she carried on complaining about SBS then she added, "oh you should at least ask them to send a double decker on concert days" then the bus driver told her how certain places has height limitations... then she kept going on and on until all people standing around started giving "looks" to each other as though telling each other how amusing this aunty is.... haha

alrightys... thats all!!! I hope i remembered everything well.... and I hope you guys will not find it a waste of your time reading all my posts!! =D have a blessed night all...

Couple of interesting incidents

Hey all, sorry I haven't been posting much.... I've been either feeling not too well or being busy with stuff so I got kinda lazy =X anyways just the other day I went for the movie Inkheart with my friend at Lido. It was one of the very few times that I actually watched a movie there and so, I was quite "sua gu" there. And so... I went to like cinema 2(I think =X) well... the only cinema that is upstairs(this, I'm sure of). After sitting down for a bit, I realised that there was a huge pillar beside our seats and about 2/3 of the bottom part of the pillar was gone, only 1/3 of the pillar was left hanging downwards from the ceiling. I brought it to my friend's attention and we started discussing if it was made this way on purpose or was it something that happened to it. We didn't get very deep into discussion when the movie "started" (the company trailer, sound system trailer etc.) and we stopped our discussion. A couple of minutes later, a group of very young ang moh girls came into the cinema (it was very clear from where I was seated at) and one of them gasped and exclaimed, "*gasps* oh my god, theres a half broken pillar right there"... well being really nice Singaporeans the people in the cinema started "shhhh-ing" as though they all needed to go pee and some people started giggling... Well we found it quite amusing so we laughed a little as well =X

Today's bus ride was quite an experience as well. I was taking the bus home and as usual I chose the seat that is near the front, facing forward, which is right in front of the 3 seater facing sideways in the bus as this is one of the few seats that actually give me enough leg space. Since it was going to be a really long ride I decided to take the chance to study a little on my school work so I took out my textbook and began reading. It was about 1/4 of my journey when a lady boarded the bus and sat at the extreme left(right in front of my face) of the 3 seater.

Immediately I could smell a "scent" from her, it isn't smelly but it does smell like some medicated oil or some aroma therapy oil. At first I was alright with the smell, but as the journey went on and with the very pathetic air-con that the bus-driver gave us, it was getting stuffy and I started feeling sick of the smell. It was so bad that I lost my appetite totally even though I was famished at that point of time.

I didn't want to make things awkward so I started to pretend that my running nose was giving me problems and covered my nose with my hand and breathing through it but my attempt failed (yeah I admit my acting sucks), the aunty soon realised that I was disturbed by a smell. She began looking around herself for possible causes and when she failed she looked at people around me as well. I felt really bad and so I took off my hand and tried to breathe normally but at this point of time, the smell made me feel even worse. It was to the extent that I wanted to get off the bus if she didn't soon enough.

I began to cover half my face with my jacket and breathing through it, by this time, no one else was around and it became apparent to her. She kept turning and glaring at me uneasily then looked around herself for "causes", and I just pretended to be watching the TV (though I really wish I could just tell her that she is the cause and that she need not look around =X) After a few rounds of glaring and looking around, the aunty seemingly believed that I was totally unaffected by her and she did something which almost made me burst out laughing.

She suddenly tilted her head sideways and started to bend lower and lower as though she was pretending to fall asleep. And as I peeked on, I saw her smelling herself around the armpit area and finally she even stuck her nose "into" her armpit and I could see her breathing in and out real hard tryin to smell herself!!! =X As sick as I was at that time, I really can't stop but grin to myself whenever she didn't notice. The sight was so funny, but of course I still felt really sick of that smell and thankfully, soon after smelling her own armpit, she got off the bus. Phew, I never appreciated fresh air so much in my life so far, it never felt better....

Wow, I haven't blogged in ages, =D. Anyways, I'm not gona have a long and extensive post because, I forgot most of the happenings already I do have a funny story though, that happened just 2 nights ago, but it will be quite long, so I'll post it next time round =X.
Yesterday I managed to meet up with my good buddy since secondary school days. It was great to be able to catch up with him and stuff and I guess nothing much has changed even though we haven't met up for donkey years... I'm glad....
And so, today was my first day doing my practicum, it was really boring cause I sat there for 4 hours reading up on my textbook with no one to counsel =(. I was given a classroom myself, and there isn't any air-con so I opened all the windows, left the door wide open and switched on all the fans. Because of the openess, all the students that walked past my room were like peeking in, and then whispering to each other, (well seems like only really "bad" students get sent up to me so I guess they probably ain't saying any good thing about me =X) then walking away looking really scared of me. I felt like an oversized alien in the school lol.
I went to PS to play some games while waiting to meet up with a friend and at the arcade I over-heard something quite interesting. There was a couple near me and the girl was asking the boyfriend to "catch" the softtoy for her (you know the whole bunch of machines that let you "catch" soft toys in the arcade) and the guy was like whining about how he doesn't play such games and he don't know how to. So the girl was like bugging him saying stuff like, "can la just try la... catch for me...." kinda things... and the guy went on whining like, "wah lau, I really don't know how to play la, I never ever played it in my life blah blah blah" and at a point of time the girl got kinda fed-up(or so I think) then she use her "ultimate" move and said to the guy, "Ok la, you give me money I catch for YOU" there and then, it left the guy speechless, defenseless, and the only can guai guai go and change money for her to "try" lol.... poor guy.....

Words, Food, Tall Women, Complains and.... seat challenge?,

Well, today I went out with some of the guys (Cooper, Calvin, Melvyn and Joshua Kim) to watch red cliff 2... here are some of the things that caught my attention...

1. Words.....
I went earlier in the hope to get us some good seating places and while queuing for the tickets, a bunch of 3 guys came behind me. One guy asked, "hey what show you wana watch?" and another went like, "oh I want to watch that [chinese pinyin] zi(4) bi(4) show. I think that zi(4) bi(4) show is very nice. Lets watch zi(4) bi(4) ok?" and the third guy went, "yeah ok lets watch zi(4) bi(4)." Then the first guy was like, "ok then we watch zi(4) bi(4)"

By this time it was becoming quite amusing to me at how all of them pronounced it wrongly. Just for information, the the chinese pronounciation for red cliff is chi(4) bi(4) which means red cliff (duh) but the guys pronounced it as zi(4) bi(4) which meant autistic >.<. And at that moment I was imagining to myself how they would go up to the ticket counter and say, "can I have 3 tickets for zi(4) bi(4) please?" At that thought, I almost burst out laughing, ahahha. 2. Food....
Well, this is nothing much I guess. I went for dinner at Astons with Calvin Low, and we both ordered chicken double up (yeah we got kinda greedy). One of Calvin Low's choices was the teriyaki chicken which came with a really strong smell of the bbq sauce, which, also tasted really like bbq sauce. But when we question the waiter why it smell and tasted like bbq sauce, he took Calvin's plate away, then brought it back almost immediately with an explanation on how it is impossible for the cook to get the sauces wrong because they are placed "miles" apart.... Well that didn't really answer our question but we didn't really care that much either in the end since Astons does taste good anyhow....

3. Tall Women
While walking towards Plaza Singapura, I saw a lady that was taller than me. When I walked near her, she was like 1/2 a head taller than me or something. Well I'm like 1.83m so it's quite a rare sight for me so I thought I'd note it down haha.

4. Complains
Well, after the movie I needed to make a run to Daiso to get my handphone lcd screen protector and while on the way there walking really fast, I heard a a short conversation of 2 office ladies. Lady 1 asked, "your boyfriend leh?" and Lady 2 answered with a very upset face, "Playing Dota la!"
Well upon hearing that it reminded me of something my American friend told me before. I was once crazy about World of Warcraft, and one day one that friend of mine told me she wanted to divorce her husband, erm... cause of the game... yes. And when I probed further, she told me it was becoming somewhat "common" that couples divorce cause of the game and usually its because 1 party neglected the other for the game.

It was quite a shocking news to me, well it still is... so let this serve as a reminder to all gamers, play when you can... don't prioritise it above everything else, especially your loved ones =D

5. Seat Challenge?
On my way home on the MRT, it was unusually crowded at like 10pm and so there were many people standing. After a couple of stops I noticed there was 1 seat where no one would take it, well I was kinda lazy to walk to the seat so I remained standing. After another stop, the people beside that empty seat got off too and there were 3 seats. There, I noticed a fairly large woman and a fairly small man (yes he is small) moving towards the seat. Just when the woman wanted to take her seat, that small man jumped onto the chair and took 2 seats for himself including the one where the woman was about to sit on. The woman was kinda forced to squeeze herself on a little more than half a seat, then she got irritated after a min or two and moved herself to the third seat which was on the other side of the guy. (hope you guys can picture this whole sequence =D) As for that guy, he carried on reading his book as tho he can neither feel the slight bump in the middle of the 2 MRT seats on his bum nor the consistent irritated looks from the woman whom he offended.

Alrights thats all for today.. =D have a blessed time for the remaining week! =D

A "fruitful" study trip

Yesterday I met up with Spencer, Cornelius, Shanmei and Bernice to study at burger king. While studying some interesting things happened. At first before shanmei came, we noticed a couple sitting diagonally across to us, there the guy was like gropping his girlfriend's butt while she was eating... then after shanmei came, we saw him "necking" her and shanmei told us that "oh when I came in I saw him lying down on her boobs"... I guess the couple was really in their own world, like totally ignoring all the curious looks around them.... on by the way, burger king was super crowded at that time....

Well after that little show we had, Spencer seemed to got a little, aroused and he became the main character for the next "show" to come. I forgot how all it started by from where I remembered, Spencer initially insisted that he has chest mussels(not my spelling poor hor, you know what I mean =X) and not moobies(just in case you don't know it means male boobs). It was then he started touching himself, well his chest, and tried convincing US to TOUCH it because he insisted that they were mussels not moobs because they were hard!(well no one touched it so only he knows the real answer hahaha)

Having failed the latter, he began stretching himself so much, his translucent P.E. shirt became so tightly stretched, his nipples could be seen by everyone. And Bernice (I think), being so very nice, told him that his nipples were exposed but to everyones' horror, Spencer's reply went like " you wana lick it?" AND he gave that very aroused tongue wiggling action (yuck, that's disgusting Spenny =D). That caused Shanmei to freak out, me and Cornelius were laughing like mad but Bernice kept her cool and with an almost calm expression she said, "oh please man Spencer you are sick" with a totally uninterested tone of voice.

Feeling rejected by Bernice, Spencer then turned to Cornelius and began poking his own moobies, opps I mean mussels AGAIN. Then he was like, "Corny, I think yours smaller right" and guess what he did?!?! He stretched out his hand and fondled Cornelius' chest!!!!! The poor Cornelius who was super vigilant throughout the study time, doing this work non-stop, was totally violated by the.... !!!!!

Thankfully, Cornelius managed to protect himself from further violation from Spencer and he just sat there laughing himself silly while the girls were totally grossed out by that action, I was laughing like crazy at both the action and the reaction to it hahahaha.

This was one fruitful study trip man where I actually managed to do up my Bible Study lesson for the next day, which took pretty long, and also finish up a little bit of my school work yet all these happenings made the study trip really fun and I didn't even feel weary at all =D

P.S.Sorry Spencer, I had to write all this in cause I know people will enjoy reading this! =X Don't worry, we will still love you! and I know you still love me right?!?!? =DDD and will carry on supporting my blog too right?!?!?! hahahahahaha

My complaining post...

Today I met up with some long-time friends, whom I haven't met for donkey years. Initially we wanted to go for dinner at paya lebar but last min some of us decided to try out a bbq+steamboat (I won't name which one la but it's the one we always see on TV advertisements that says they charge $16 EVERYDAY. Oh if you must know, trying translating everyday into chinese and you will understand.) buffet at bugis. I agreed readily since someone was paying for me.

The place wasn't too hard to find especially with a large bright green signboard with a huge "$16 everyday" printed on it. Upon sitting down, we were instantly asked what soup base we want, then someone came and wanted to collect $$ from us. Instead of $16 (EVERYDAY), we were charged $21.30, and the worker explained that $16 is for steamboat only, and if we want both steamboat + bbq it's $18 and the soup costs $3. Well, we felt kinda cheated cause for that price we coulda gone to a much better place, but we went with it anyway.

The concept seemed kinda appealing tho, there was an electric stove for the steamboat and then there was the gas stove for bbq where they placed some charcoal on the metal plating that was just above the flame and then the bbq grill. I guess the idea was to heat up the charcoal through the metal plating and allow their customers to do some "real" bbq on the spot.

Well, the first thing that happened after we paid was that we picked up all the food we wanted and waited for like 5-10mins (looking silly) and no one came to turn on the fire for us. Feeling kinda silly, one of my friends tried looking for the switch then asked me if it was the one by the side, well I turned the knob and there was fire. The famished group of us couldn't wait to eat and thus we quickly placed our food on the bbq grill and into the steamboat thinking that it won't be long before we can actually fill our stomachs.

But we were so, so wrong. After 15 mins of flipping our food on top of the bbq grill, the food did not seem any less raw than before. The flames were at the max but the charcoal did not look any different than before and the grills just ain't getting any warmer. The electric stove did not do very well either. We only put in minimal stuff like thin slices of beef/mutton, some tou fu, dumplings and meat balls yet it's like, not even close to boiling after 15mins on MAX heat.

It was like almost 30 mins when the soup began to boil very slowly. I quickly took the ladel and help myself to the beef and some soup but guess what, the first sip of the soup made me lose my appetite totally. It was like horrendously blend and tasteless even though it was tom yam, it was like plain water with color and oil. Yuck man the taste was horrible. The bbq wasn't getting any better either and my first serving of bbq beef wasn't even close to getting cooked. I was totally upset with that place man, and started complaining non-stop to my friends about how bad the place was.

It took like almost an hour for the charcoal on the metal plate to actually heat up and thus, heating up our grill for bbq. Even though the bbq tasted not bad, the smoke from the steamboat kept blowing in my direction and the smell of it made me kinda sick. I was really upset the entire evening about the charges and soup and I went complaining away the whole time (yeah like a girl LOL). To make matters worse, there were 3 uncles who were beside us and they started mocking us and said that we don't know how to eat all the good stuff (by that they meant like seafood i.e. prawns, cuttlefish, and other shell stuff). I was so uber pissed with everything man seriously.

AND that was not the end! On the way home, I took the same bus with this girl friend of mine and we sat somewhere at the back. There was this fat girl with her small eyed friend right at the back who kept glaring at my friend and me. She gave those kinda super pissed of glare at both of us which really got on my nerves and I whispered to my friend about it. The funny thing was that she went like "the fat one ah?" really loudly and we both just laughed. Both of them immediately looked straight at our direction and most probably realised that we were talking about them.

Bleh, this is one of the horrible horrible buffet experience I've got in a long time. I won't ever go back there again man.

Long... Long.... post.. =D

Hi people, wow its been quite a few days since I last blogged, oh wells, I'm hardly home nowadays cause I don't like to be at home so yeah, I hardly get on the com and so I don't really blog. Oh wells, I have been farting non-stop for like 3 days, I really wonder why, poor me, and I have been feeling super tired, no matter how much rest I get, poor me again... zz anyways yesterday was the first day of school for me. The new time table for this semester is super hectic and I have lesson from 10am - 5pm on my birthday!!! poor me x3 sobs.... anyways some interesting things I've learnt this week on the history of "madness", mental illnesses or psychopathology.

In olden days, theologians, scholars, philosophers believed that all mental illness are the result of supernatural forces like angry gods, possession by demons and the likes. And these are some of the ways people use to "cure" mental illnesses in chronological order (hopefully I'm right haha)
In the times of demonology(I think thats the earliest times), mental illnesses are believed to be results of demon possession and so, the method of treatment was to drive the demons out of the body. They tried doing this in numerous ways, for example using exorcism rituals like force feeding vile brews to the victim, by flogging or starving the victim. It was believed that once the body was rendered useless, the demon will leave the person. It wasn't too useful I guess, if they cause the person to become literally "useless"(disabled) due to the flogging or if the person dies of starvation. Yet an even more brutal way was to actually crack a hole in the skull of the "mad person" to let the evil spirits out. Well, the "mad" people usually dies of massive blood loss before the demons can get out.
Then in 5th Century B.C. they believe that mental illness is due to physical diseases, it was the time of Hippocrates, heres the definition from Dictionary.com (Greek physician who laid the foundations of scientific medicine by freeing medical study from the constraints of philosophical speculation and superstition. He is traditionally but inaccurately considered the author of the Hippocratic oath.). And they believed that "madness" could be cured by balancing the four humors in the body i.e. blood, black bile, yellow bile, & phlegm.
Then years down the road, demonology made a come back and their main treatment this time were using exorcisms. And in the 1300s mental illness was deemed to be the result of witchcraft. Hallucinations and delusions were seen as evidence of witchcraft. Those who were "thought" to be guilty were bound and dunked in water consistently. The rationale was that you are a witch if you can survive the water dunking. Well, then of course those who died are not witches but that doesn't make much of a difference anymore does it? Anyways at that era, the main treatment for mentally ill were to beatings or death by hanging or burning. Most accused were not mentally ill, but forced to admit symptoms they didn’t have.
In the 1500s there were crusades and the mentally ill are finally housed in asylums. The asylums were originally leprosariums that were converted when leprosy was on a decline. But the conditions were bad, there were little food, little patient care and spreading of diseases. At a point of time, asylum/s became tourist attractions. The mentally ill were placed on display for all to see.
The main treatment at that time were were draining of blood and purposely "frightened". Letting of blood was thought to bring the patient to his/her senses but that of course, left many dead because of the excessive loss of blood and they also believed that a patient can be "frightened" back to his/her senses and cure the "madness".
It was not until the 1790s where mentally ill people, were treated morally. And of course today, mentally ill people are treated with medications and psycho-therapy, thank God for that.

Well well this is like 1/2 my lecture last night. An interesting story my prof told us last night...
He was sitting for his clinical examinations by which he was required to counsel a guy (fake client) with a given case, and he needs to diagnose the guy and give his examiners a diagnosis at the end of 40mins. Well he was given a case where the guy came with a gun, a knife and after 40mins he went on to his examiners (not singaporean) and gave his diagnosis. He said that the patient was sufferring from some anti-social personality disorder and when questioned why, my prof mentioned the weapons, some other things and told the examiners that another reason was also because he is homosexual. Well, the results, of course is that he failed, only to later find out that one of the examiner was actually, you know, homosexual and because he doesn't see homosexual as a problem, of course he failed my prof hahaha. Anyways, the moral of this story was that "IT PAYS TO KNOW WHO YOUR EXAMINERS ARE" hahaah.
Oh by the way, by now I believe that most of us, young and old, would have known to a certain extent how costly medical expenses in Singapore can be. Guess what? There is good news for us (well maybe), It is cheaper to be mad in Singapore than to be sick! =D If you don't believe me you can check out the prices to see a psychiatrist/psychologist at the IMH and compare it to a GP price or hospital prices =X... haha

*P.S. To all my friends that are working with youths, here is a quote from my prof's wife that really touched my heart,
"'No Kid is a Bad Kid' - many a times, they just need someone to show concern, believe and affirm them. I'm sure all of you can be that someone."!!
Let us learn to be patient working with young people(yeah it definitely ain't easy), and not follow in the footsteps of Job's counsellors - giving advice before making sure they understood the problem. Never try to win a person to your point of view until you are sure you understand theirs. (Proverbs 15:23) =)

Alrighty, uber long post =D have a blessed week!! =D

<link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://pleasegivechance.blogspot.com/2009/01/long-long-post-d.html' title='Long... And so, the bunch of us just stood at the standing area (on the new buses) and started our own chitchat. It was then one of the Sec1s noticed a couple that is standing right behind us with their backs facing us. The guy was like holding his girlfriend in his arms and then constantly kissing the girl on the cheek and forehead while whispering stuffs into her ears. This caught some of the Sec1s' attention and they labelled the couple PDA (Public Display of Affection). When they told me about the couple I was like, "aiya it's ok la, he's just hugging her and giving her pecks on her cheek and forehead, not like frenchkissing in front of the whole world, so it's not so bad." And so it passed and we carry on our conversation. What I least expected, about the couple, was when they were getting off the bus. The couple turned and faced my direction and I inevitably noticed that the girl had like numerous love bites on her chest (she was wearing like a V neck top, and the V is like can see the chest, I don't know how to name it) and my mind went like, "okay, they sure are showing off their love for each other publicly, PDA is kinda an understatement now" and I immediately turned to Joy and told her what I saw and laughed. I can just imagine the reaction the Sec1 kids would give if they saw all those love bites LOL...

haha i finally linked people successfully =D anyways people, sorry I seldom read peoples' blog so do tag ur blog address so that I can link you.. =D

haha its been a long time since I last posted! anyways... my reservist just ended the past Friday, I didn't know sleeping throughout the reservist could be so tiring though... I really came out feeling much more tired than when I first went in lol.... here's an interesting thing that happened during one of the days, it's kinda like a "sick" joke, not all might understand or like it =D here it goes...

The cookhouse food (catered by the army) is like particularly bad this reservist. For example like on the first day, it was tau pok + chicken + veg and after all the dishes were scooped onto my plain rice, I thought I was having porridge. My friend was complaining about the overcooked chicken on how he couldn't make out which part of the chicken he was eating. And so, the awesome once a week western food (it's the best food you can get from the cookhouse) came on thursday and everyone was like kinda talking about in and like saying how we must go eat later etc.. because the past 3 days we were just like eating and slping and we were really bored to the extreme, one of our friends actually brought an mp4 player to watch some movies la... and the show he was watching suddenly sparked the interest of everyone in the office. Everyone thought it was some striptese show and they got really excited (yeah all the dirty old men, excluding me of course =X) and they were like "come watch come watch, it's some sexy striptese show) and so that little mp4 player was placed at a position where everyone could watch the show together.

The first scene I saw was a girl doing some pole dancing, and stripping, and everyone in the office was like getting excited and the next thing I saw was that a zombie pounced on the girl and chew off her neck and she died. I was like "haha so it's a zombie show, how stupid" and someone went like "no lah, its a sexy strip dancing show, its not zombie" Can't be bothered to say anymore, I went out of the office, took a short nap, went back in again when it was almost lunch time. I found that everyone was still watching the show. This time round, the supposedly dead girl was like dancing again and I was told by the people watching that she became a zombie herself. So here she was, dancing as a zombie (that looked exactly like a human). After she finished her dance, the crowd watching was cheering like crazy for her and everyone in that show thought that she was hot.

Then, I interuppted everyone and told them it's already lunch time and that we should go have lunch before there is a long queue, but at that exact time, the zombie girl in the movie picked a guy and brought him backstage and the guy went like "oh my, I must be the luckiest guy in the world". And so, as expected, everyone was like "wait first wait first, sex scene leh, watch finish first then go eat". And I went like "aiya come back then watch la, she's probably gona eat this guy or something, it's a zombie show" and someone else went like "no loh, it's sex scene loh look! they starting it already just watch" and I replied "Please man she's confirm gona eat him up or something." and there was silence because everyone was watch so intensely at the tiny screen for the sex scene.

The scene began with the girl teasing the guy for a little while, the guy was like happy and stuff. Then she pulled down his pants vigorously and she knelt down to give the guy oral sex. Then the movie showed the guy like enjoying himself and suddenly there was a loud "chew" sound, like the girl bit something off and the guy suddenly screamed and everyone in the room was like "ouch". The scenes that followed were really funny, they showed the zombie girl chewing on the guy's "thing" and there were munching and crunching sound as though the things was really crispy and delicious then they showed the guy running around in pain showing blood in his pants where his thing would be.

Many totally lost their appetite, they were like "ill" some even went like "wah lau, sian" and people started getting off their seats and saying "gia gia gia lets go eat, come back then watch" then there were replies like "wah lau I no appetite eat already la, don't want watch anymore" and I was just laughing at this whole thing myself and I told them "haha see la, tell you all she will eat him dun believe, keep saying wad sex scene sex scene, now confirm dun feel like eating right..."

Anyways we went for lunch after that, but after we return to the office, no one talked about wanting to finish watching that show anymore haha....

LOL I just had one of the most relaxing reservist in my life.... in general I just go back to sleep, wake up eat... sleep again... then wake up to go home... sounds so exciting right? I'm finally able to blog after a very long week... but oh wells, another long week awaits me cause I have reservist! zz Anyways, today on the bus to church I met with an interesting encounter haha. Here it goes...
Today I was really sleepy cause I haven't recovered from the camp... so on the bus (1 1/2 hrs ride) I just slpt. One of the stops, a man came up and just sat beside me, he shocked me cause he just jumped on the sit and sat on my jacket... after pulling it up, I thought nothing much and went to sleep again. When I got nearer to my stop, many people dropped from the bus and the man went to sit alone. It was then, he pulled out a toy dolphin that was placed at his back, in his pants, where people usually keep their guns in the movies.... then I realised, that dolphin toy was actually a toy gun.... the kind of toy gun when you pull the trigger many different types of sound comes out... like sirens (bee bor bee bor), missile sounds (diu diu diu) that kind... not sure if people will understand me but yeah... that man took out a gun like that and he began aiming at TV mobile and shooting at the TV! then he began to move in sudden movements aiming at different parts of the bus and different people on the bus... I was kinda shocked... hahaha anyways, as I was about to stand up and get off the bus at my stop, the man stood up really early to wait for the door to open, thus, I decided to drop 1 stop after my usual stop to avoid this guy because I suddenly remembered that when I pulled my jacket away from him, I did it pretty irritatedly and I was afraid he would harass me or something if we got off at the same stop and because of that I got stucked at the bus stop because it didn't have any shelter like my usual stop LOL!...

Hihi here are some interesting facts people might want to know =D

An average man speaks about 9000words a day and women 5000, for that, I'm definitely one of the higher average man =X AND now we know why women always complain how their men have nothing to say to them hahaha =D

An average person speaks about 40-50k self-talk (means talk to ownself) words a day and 70% of it are negative.
Another study says that an average person speaks about 20k self-talk words a day, even so, 50% of it are negative.
I guess whatever the number of words we talk to ourselves, the % of negative stuff is pretty scary =D Just imagine you are telling yourself "I can't stand this !@#*&^" and all the while you are smiling and talking to that person. I think it's especially true in Singapore because on the "World Happy Index", the measurement of the happiness level of the people in a country, Singapore is ranked like 139 or 141 (can't remember lol). By the way, I'm not very sure how many countries they surveyed the highest I saw was ranked 150 but anyways theres only 190 countries in the world so we ain't too far back =X. And so, we ARE very unhappy bunch of people here in Singapore. Now you know that you aren't the only one when you are unhappy haha =X

Even though we are a bunch of unhappy folks, we are rated the 5th best city in the world to obtain a degree and the 6th best to do business =D not too shabby ya? Anyways, not gonna share alot of my thoughts about these studies/facts because I believe that everyone has their own perception of things especially on such stuff.

Just thought it might be interesting for people to know =D

Ah hah, here is my first "interesting" post, it's about an event I shared with melvyn about on msn.
Today I went to Just Acia at Douby Xchange to study with Gabriel. We found a nice cosy corner where we can plug in to our laptops and settled down pretty nicely. But not long after we started studying, a group of about 8 guys were seated right beside us. Their age range probably from 13-18? and maybe 1 old guy(lets call him A), well at least what he said made him seem to be though he definitely don't look it. Anyways heres the thing....
Well you know, because they were seated right beside us, and they were pretty loud, so I just couldn't help listening in to some of the things that were spoken by them. A, seemingly dominated the entire conversation and all the other guys seem to look up to him in great awe for the "greatness" of his "knowledge".
I have no idea how the conversation led to talk about the army, but what really sparked my interest to evesdrop (yes I know it's bad) was when A started to talk about him using the m16 in the army. He explained that there are 2 firing modes, the single shot (1 bullet at a time) and the burst fire (a chain of bullets). And he started to brag about how he fired in burst fire before (guys who went through the army would know why, ask them if you don;t =D)and how the burst fire mode fires 6 bullets at once.
The other boys were listening so intently to him and gave him that "wow you did it" look and totally believed him. It was hilarious, cause right when he said it's 6 shots burst, I knew there and then he was lying through his teeth but the boys that were with him were so awed by his story. Then he went on to say how he thinks AK47 is a better gun (well it obviously is cause it's ranked the best in the world) and one of the boys asked him "so you fired it before?" A stuttured for a split second and went on to say "erm... yes yes I did" then the boy was like "life? with real bullets?" A went like "erm.. yes of course, I was at life range firing the AK47 and I jumped into the foxhole then after that I used the SAR21 (he changed gun during his range WOW!) and given only 5 bullets. The transparent magazine looked really cool blah blah......"
I literally laughed out loud on the spot at his bullshit. To further amuse me, A later tried even harder to be the "Mr know-it-all" when one of the boys asked "how they make money giving people free-flow of drinks and ice-cream man". A went like "of course la, the ice-cream is damn cheap, it's really damn cheap loh, you know how many tubs they change everyday?" Well firstly it doesn't makes sense because the more tubs they change = more cost$$ and he talked like he know the cost price of the ice-cream the restaurant actually purchases it at. Whatever the case, the boys believed him.
One of the most memorable thing was during a part of the conversation where one boy even said, "shut up shut up all shut up and listen to A" and A just went on as fast as he could. I can't emphasize more on how much they "look-up" to him and believed everything he said at surface value. It's just like in madagascar 2 when the guy said, "Let's hurry before they come to their senses" haha Though this isn't the first time I heard the "magnified" version of army stories, it did not fail to amuse me nevertheless, the believing crowd just adds to the laughs..

hey guys, haha it must be really surprising why someone like me who doesn't think much of blogging, would actually start a blog =D anyways the reason I decided to start this blog is because, as many of my friends said, I tend to see many "interesting" things whenever I'm out. Though it may or may not be interesting/funny/amusing to everyone, I have decided to blog them just for fun/laughs sake, so stay tuned =D...
